William Robertson Smith
William Robertson Smith, a "son of Keig" became Professor of Hebrew at Aberdeen and later Professor of Arabic at Christ's College, Cambridge. He is one of three leading and influential Victorian Scotsmen of that period, the other two being Robert Louis Stevenson and James Clerk Maxwell. Both Maxwell and Smith have Aberdeen connections.
