William McDonald and Helen Buchan

June writes: "William was a farmer not sure when he came to Aberdeenshire, haven't found him in 1841 or 1851 census's.
Helen's father was a weaver and Church sexton at the Muir of Alford. She and William married there in 1860. William appears to have worked on various farms and roadworks in the area, residing mainly in the Leochel Cushnie area.
In the last years of their lives they were at Glacks farm, Leochel Cushnie." (see photograph of Glacks Farm)

I can't believe this picture, it is of my great, great Grandfather. He was born in Inverness area, probably "The Back Isle" around 1834 ish. One of his children Raymond (great grandfather) was the postie in Alford and lived in "Cairnmhor".
