Montgarrie BridgeNotice the spelling of Montgarrie on this postcard....perhaps the photographer was influenced by the story of the possible origin of the name in the order to "mount for Garioch" given by the leaders of the Lowlanders camped at Montgarrie prior to the battle of Harlaw (24 July 1411).

Actually the name of the village was (in living memory) Mountgarrie. It was decided by some of the locals to drop the "U"
