Would this have been an Armistice Day parade? Are those poppies in the buttonholes? Alford SWRI and possibly the local Freemasons Lodge behind.

Looks like Masonic aprons being worn by some of the men. Also looks like Sashes being worn.

Probably a jubilee celebration of some sort. Mrs Clark set up the rural in Alford, which is one of the oldest in Aberdeenshire.

Alford SWRI is still going strong - It celebrates its 90th birthday in Feb. 2010! The Muir of Alford SWRI closed some 8 or 9 years ago.
