James Shepherd was our uncle. This is the first photo we have ever seen of him. Our father was William Shepherd. Any info re James'death?

James Shepherd is my uncle. My father, William Shepherd, told me that his brother could have played football for Scotland. He also told me that he died in a terrible accident whilst training with the home guard. I would love to hear more about my relatives.

Susan,your father william, was he born 1892 and a brother of james,jean,thomas,peter, robert,jane,george,andrew,john and cyril? All of them children of peter shepherd and Barbara Still?
