Thanks Derek. Yes, that is a distinct possibility and I do see the resemblance in layout and form. Strangely enough I had thought it might have been another steading not far from Cattie. I have spoken to Malcolm Forbes concerning old photographs of the farm buildings on the Forbes Estate, but he thought that there were non in existence amongst their papers. I will keep looking however.

The lady standing beside the wheel and horse is my great grandmother Jane Mcpherson nee Ellis.The couble beside horse is my grandparents George and Barbara Johnstone.The picture is the Kirkton Cushnie.Their is a churchyard behind house, which was the manse.Ihave a copy of the same picture.

I am a descendant of Ellis's of Leochel Cushnie, and have compiled an extensive family tree. Its good to put faces to names.

my great grandmother jane skene ellis nee leys was the housekeeper at kirkton of cushnie she married george ellis in 1887. i wonder if we are related lesley.
