I believe this man Sandy Craib could be related to a John Birse who was married to a Jean Craib or Jane Craib.Perhaps someone can confirm this. Many thanks.

Hello Mary and June
Where is Cairnballock? I couldn't find it on google. I am a descendant of the Craib family that lived in the Fochabers Elgin Banff and the Fordyce areas. I live in Townsville Australia.
I checked out our family tree and found a Jane Craib who was born 1781. Jane was a daughter to George Craib and Beatrix Cruickshank. We do not have records on who Jane married. It's possible that this little bit of information may be of some use to you.
I would be interested in any information on the Craib family, and descendants, that are linked to George Craib b.1711 d.1794 and his wife Elspet Thain b.1715 d.1788.

Hello Eddie, try spelling it "Cairnballoch" rather than "Cairnballock".....it is a small farmstead just a mile or so to the south west of Alford....if you can find Kingsford House you are very near to it. Cairnballoch is also the hill overlooking the farmstead.
